The Print, Design and Marketing Award for Graphic Design was presented to Cutture for the design of our showpiece invitation ‘Wild Tonic’ earlier this month
We were so thrilled to have been nominated for 4 awards at this year’s Print Design and Marketing Awards to take one home was just brilliant. On 29th June Chris and Lettie boarded the Silver Sturgeon on the River Thames, alongside a host of print industry peers, where an awards ceremony took place and we picked up the best Graphic Design award.
We have never actually put ourselves forward for an award in the past, but this year we decided to look into some very ‘credible’ and relevant awards to enter, for both events and wedding. A lot of the invitations we make are for corporate clients who are looking to send invitations out for their marketing events. And so when we discovered the Print, Design and Marketing awards we felt these were the awards to be recognised in as they were covering all of the areas so important to what we do.
Our job when creating corporate event invitations is to help brands stand out from the crowd, increase attendance and send out their brand messaging very clearly, so our design skills and history of graphic design for branding is crucial. Obviously, we also have to work with budgets, gaining the best design for that budget which relies on print techniques and clever designs to work with print to reduce costs.
Also nominated, Esteé Lauder by Cutture and Harrods fulfilment packaging (not pictured)
The winning entry for the Graphic Design award was for our ‘Wild Tonic’ showcase invitation, this was a showcase event we were involved in to sell a collaborative team of event professional ideas to corporate clients, event planners and private clients over 2 evening’s of entertainment last year.
Some of the fantastic feedback from esteemed judges;
‘This is truly an awe-inspiring piece of design that shows originality and inspiration. It pushes the boundaries of what can be achieved through print’.
Wild Tonic is one of the most complex pieces we’ve ever undertaken. To create the excitement and ‘wow factor’ needed, it included many different elements, including illustration, laser cutting, a paper fan and an opening mechanism. This one was certainly a labour of love..

And finally, not only did we win an award for graphic design, but this format has now been used by one of our most esteemed clients, Harrods, as part of their corporate offering at this year’s Chelsea Flower show! So all in all, the perfect result and we hope this will not be the last time for this format to be used.
We would very much like to thank the Print, Design and Marketing Awards for this wonderful accolade and recognition as well as our Print partner Freestyle Print for the fantastic quality of digital print on this job for us.
