In the Sharland house we do like to make a bit of a show out of Easter. Often the underdog in festivals in the religious calendar for families these days, I do think it’s a festivity that is finally being celebrated again. We see Easter as such a positive time of year, a physical shift in our daylight saving means for longer days and the coming through winter, representing a time to implement all those goals of the new year. It does also feel like we all ‘wake up’ here in Europe!
Traditionally Easter often is a time for renewal and coming through the fasting of Lent and now, thankfully, food is our way of celebrating the renewal of life. It so happens to tie in beautifully with the season of Spring, trees blossoming and lambs being born. That aside, in our family I like to lay the table the night before, yes the Easter bunny does visit, not sure how Jesus feels about that, but we make a day of it. Decorations have been known to rival Christmas on occasion, but I say, why not? The children love the traditional Easter egg hunt and Dominic cooks a mean Easter feast on the day itself. So this week’s inspired edit is focusing on the beautiful styling ideas you can create, hop on over to our Pinterest board where you can gain some wonderful inspiration and stare in total awe of those hand carved eggs, amazing! Have a wonderful bank holiday you all, and go on, make an event of Easter, it’s Spring!
