Bridging the gap between wedding ‘season’ and Christmas ahead, we thought it was about time for some Birthday inspiration in this week’s Pinterest inspired edit. In honour of Dominic and Helen’s middle daughter, who turned nine this week, we thought we’d focus on the kids first, with adult party styling coming later in the month. Where do we begin, the children’s party conjures up mixed emotions for parents, on one hand full of excitement, on the other, if you aren’t creative, it’s quite a mine field.
This is where the brilliance of Pinterest does come in very handy. Our advice? A definite place to start is a theme, this obviously needs to relate to your child’s likes and personality, if you are really fussy (like me) with a little help from Pinterest even the TV character’s can be styled beautifully and ultimately with FUN in mind. For children it’s all about the details and experience, every minute need’s to be accounted for so games and entertainment is an absolute must, check our supplier of the week, Fairy Sarah for true inspiration!
The other major player is the food, this is where you can really have all the fun, style the food according to theme and of course the cake too. Paper styling is the perfect addition for food, and acrylic cake toppers can read numbers, names or graphics, we have made may for our own children from laser cut horses for a merry go around to a simple sparkly number ten, great for any age. Whether you DIY or have a planner, all we ask is you don’t forget the FUN!
