Table plans are a means of showing your guests to their seats, it tells them which table they will be sitting at, so an important piece of your day stationery. Table plans are an opportunity to have fun with your event styling, they come in all manner of formats from the traditional boards on an easel to full scale hanging installation. The design from your wedding invitation can be incorporated into your table plan very easily, it’s choosing the format which will be the biggest decision! Below we outline the differences:
Traditional Table Plan; Traditional table plans have the table names with the guests’ names written underneath each table. These are usually presented on a board resting on an easel or similar. Escort cards and floor plans; Escort cards are individual cards with guests names on and the table number or name is also on that card, traditionally these are small cards with details on the back, however, escort tags are the best way to be creative, you can hang them, to create a stunning installation, you can create 3 dimensional keepsakes for guests, in fact we have whole page dedicated to them for inspiration. Often escort cards require a floor plan, similar to the below so that guests can find their way around the room once they have their table number/name.
If you choose to create a hanging installation it’s best to work with your venue and event planner to make sure you have a safe structure to hang from. If you are using a traditional format be sure there is an easel or somewhere to place the table plan in your venue, keep it a good size so guests can see amongst the crowd! Working with a florist to decorate a table plan is a final tip, surrounding your plan with a floral installation is a stylish way to present the table plan.
Table plans can be created out of laser cut card or acrylic, it really is a personal choice. We can mix materials or keep it simple.
